We live busy lives and for many of us, finding time to ponder and reflect on what we want from life seems a waste of our time or simply a DISTRACTION from the other 101 things we have on our lists. But if you're not clear on what you want it's impossible to have direction - we end up going wherever life takes us. We could end up anywhere or everywhere. Not knowing what we want also makes it hard to say "NO" to others. How can we PRIORITIZE ourselves when we have nothing to work towards for ourselves? We have no REASON to say "NO." Having goals gives us purpose in life. When we know what we want, we can get focused and ask ourselves, "Does this move me Toward my goals or away from them?" If you don't know what you want, you'll end up with what you get! So let's get s tarted.
Six Steps to Achieving Your Goal(s): 1. List the things you want to do, have or not want within the next 1, 5, 10 years. 2. List the top 5 ideas you want to work on. What will achieving this goal(s) do for y Ou? 3. List the 3 things you will actually work on. Make them SMART (Specific, mEASURABLE, Attainable, Relevant & T TIMELY). 4. Prepare for success: What can you do or stop doing to help you achieve your goal(s)? Are there any obstacles? What is the best advice to give yourself to make sure you achieve your goal(s)? 5. Taking Action: What is the one thing you will do for each goal within the next month and by when? 6. Have an accountability partner. Who will keep you on track and how?
